Santa Barbara is more known for its growing number of major shopping areas like the factory outlets. There are also other industries like horse breeding and farming other than wine growing in Santa Barbara. Very little grapes growing activities until around the 1970s in this region when the major commercial counterpart began planting. The longer, cooler growing season due to its unique geographical position, resulted in richer wine.
